STEMA Junior Explorers – Age group: 5 to 7 years old (Grade K-2)
Theme 1: Coding: Code Your Own Animation Jr
Animation • Storytelling • Beginner Coding
Students will create fun animated stories and characters using beginner-friendly coding tools. Campers will learn how to make characters move, talk, and interact by arranging simple code blocks. Through creative storytelling projects, students develop coding logic, creativity, and digital confidence.
Theme 2: Engineering: Integrated STEAM Projects
Engineering • Problem Solving • Creative Building
Campers will explore a variety of hands-on STEAM challenges that combine science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Students will build structures, experiment with materials, and test their ideas through fun design challenges. These activities encourage critical thinking, creativity, and teamwork.
Theme 3: Robotics: Introduction to Robotics
Robotics • Sensors & Motors • Hands-On Learning
Students will continue exploring the basics of robotics and engineering through guided robot-building activities. Campers will experiment with motors, sensors, and simple coding commands to control robot movement. Fun challenges help students understand how robots work while building problem-solving and teamwork skills.
Theme 4: Minecraft Education: Builder Studio
Minecraft • Digital Building • Creativity
Campers will become young architects in Minecraft Education as they design houses, parks, and imaginative worlds. Students will learn how to build structures, decorate environments, and collaborate on creative building projects. This camp encourages creativity, planning, and spatial thinking.
Theme 5: Coding: Code Your Own Animation Jr + Computer Science Fundamentals

Students will expand their animation projects while learning fundamental computer science concepts such as sequencing, patterns, and logical thinking. Campers will use simple coding blocks to control characters and build interactive stories. This camp strengthens computational thinking and creativity.
Theme 6: Digital Arts: Stop-Motion Movie Studio
Stop Motion • Storytelling • Creative Media
Students will create their own stop-motion movies by designing characters, building scenes, and capturing frame-by-frame animation. Campers will learn how movies are made and experiment with visual storytelling techniques. By the end of the camp, students will produce their own short animated film.
Theme 7: General Science: Tiny Scientist Labs
Microscope Exploration • Scientific Discovery • Curiosity
Young scientists will explore the hidden world around them using mini microscopes. Students will examine everyday objects such as leaves, sand, fabric, and other materials to discover amazing details invisible to the naked eye. Through guided observations and fun experiments, campers develop scientific curiosity and observation skills.
Theme 8: Minecraft Education: Builder Studio
Minecraft • Creativity • World Building
Students will continue developing their creativity in Minecraft Education by designing larger structures and imaginative environments. Campers may build theme parks, cities, or adventure worlds while learning the basics of planning and digital design. Collaborative building projects encourage teamwork and creativity.
Theme 9: Robotics: Robotics Competition
Teamwork • Strategy • Robot Challenges
Students will team up to design and program robots to compete on a challenge map. Teams will earn points by collecting blocks and bringing them back to their base, racing against time and other teams. Through this exciting competition, students practice teamwork, strategy, and creative problem-solving while having fun with robotics.

Theme 1: Robotics: Introduction to Robotics

Students will explore the world of robotics and engineering by learning how robots move, sense their surroundings, and follow instructions. Campers will build robots and use block-based coding to control motors and sensors. Through fun challenges, students develop problem-solving and computational thinking skills.
Theme 2: Coding: Code Your Animation and Game
Scratch Coding • Game Design • Creative Animation
Students will use Scratch 3.0 to create their own animations and interactive projects. Campers will design fun creations such as dance parties, music bands, interactive art, and creative stories, while learning coding concepts like sequences, events, and loops. This camp strengthens coding logic and creative digital storytelling.
Theme 3: Digital Arts: 3D World Builder & Game Designer
3D Design • Game Creation • Spatial Thinking
Students will design objects and environments in a 3D digital world while developing spatial thinking skills. Campers will create their own 3D maze games by adding obstacles and challenges such as lava, zombies, and ice. Students can invite classmates to try their game and see who reaches the finish line fastest.
Theme 4: Minecraft Education: Mobbing & Coding
Minecraft Coding • Game Modding • Creative Exploration
Students will learn coding concepts inside the Minecraft Education environment. Campers will modify the game by creating fun features such as superpowers, chicken rain, and mega jumps. Through these projects, students develop logical thinking and creativity while coding inside a familiar game world.
Theme 5: AI: Hour of Code and Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence • Machine Learning • Coding
Students will explore the foundations of artificial intelligence and machine learning through interactive coding activities. Campers will participate in Hour of Code challenges to understand how computers learn patterns and make decisions. This theme introduces students to the exciting field of AI and future technologies.
Theme 6: Engineering: Machines & Gears
Engineering • Simple Machines • Mechanical Advantage
Students will investigate the principles of engineering and mechanical systems through hands-on building challenges. Campers will explore how simple machines, gears, and mechanical advantages help machines move and perform work. Activities help students understand how engineers design efficient systems.
Theme 7: Minecraft Education: Artificial Intelligence
AI Literacy • Ethics • Technology Awareness
Students will explore artificial intelligence concepts within the Minecraft Education environment. Campers will learn about the history of AI, ethical considerations, and potential careers in AI. Students will also investigate real-world issues such as deepfakes, plagiarism, and AI misuse, helping build strong AI literacy and digital awareness.
Theme 8: Coding: Game Making with Roblox
Roblox Studio • Game Design • Lua Programming
Students will learn how to create their own games using Roblox Studio. Campers will build interactive environments and explore basic Lua scripting to control game mechanics. By the end of the camp, students will understand the fundamentals of game development and digital creativity.
Theme 9: Robotics: Creative Robotics with Microbit
Microbit Coding • Interactive Devices • Robotics Projects
Students will build more advanced robotics projects using Microbit, a programmable mini computer. Campers will create projects such as a rock-paper-scissors game, a digital compass, a musical device, or a simple door alarm. These activities help students explore coding, electronics, and engineering design.
Theme 10: Coding: Code Your Arcade Game
Game Coding • Retro Games • Creative Programming
Students will design classic-style games using Microsoft MakeCode Arcade. Campers will program retro games using block-based coding and test their creations on a portable arcade device. This camp strengthens coding skills, creativity, and logical thinking.
Theme 11: Cyber Security with Minecraft
Online Safety • Digital Identity • Cyber Awareness
Students will learn important cybersecurity concepts inside the Minecraft environment. Campers will explore how to protect personal data, recognize online manipulation, and build positive online communities. Topics also include digital identity, data centers, and safe internet practices.
Theme 12: Digital Arts: Stop-Motion Movie Studio
Animation • Storytelling • Creative Media
Students will create their own stop-motion movies by designing characters, building scenes, and capturing frame-by-frame animation. Campers will learn storytelling techniques and explore how filmmakers create animated movies. By the end of the camp, students will produce a short stop-motion film.
Theme 13: Digital Arts: 3D Modeling & Virtual Reality
3D Modeling • Virtual Worlds • Creative Design
Students will continue building their 3D design skills while exploring virtual reality environments. Campers will create digital objects and assemble them into virtual worlds such as zoos, classrooms, or imaginative landscapes. This camp develops spatial thinking and digital creativity.
Theme 14: Minecraft Education: Space & Earth Science

Inspired by NASA missions, students will explore space science within Minecraft Education. Campers will investigate topics such as space stations, the James Webb telescope, rocks and minerals, and moon bases. Activities help students connect science concepts with creative world building.
Theme 15: AI: Train Your Own AI (Teachable Machine)
Machine Learning • Image Recognition • AI Experiments
Students will use Teachable Machine to train a computer to recognize images, sounds, and body poses. Campers will collect training data and see how machines learn patterns. This activity introduces the fundamentals of machine learning in a fun and visual way.
Theme 16: Coding: Advanced Game Projects
Game Design • Programming Logic • Creative Challenges
Students will build more advanced games by applying coding concepts learned earlier in the program. Campers may create games such as maze challenges, ping pong games, or hunting adventures. These projects help students deepen their coding logic and game design skills.
Theme 17: Robotics: Robotics Competition
Teamwork • Strategy • Robotics Challenge
Students will work in teams to design, build, and program robots for a competition-style challenge. Robots must navigate a map and complete tasks such as collecting objects or reaching specific targets. Teams earn points based on strategy, speed, and successful robot programming.
