📚 Program Details:

STEMA Learning is excited to offer fun and educational after-school Coding classes right at Lord Selkirk Elementary! The program runs every Friday from 3:00 to 5:00 PM and is designed to introduce children to the exciting world of computer programming with no prior experience required.

Daily schedule: 

  • 3:00 – 3:30 PM: Arrival time, soft start
  • 3:30 – 4:30 PM: Instructional time with engaging, hands-on lessons

    • Learn the basics of computer programming through fun activities like coding animations, interactive stories, and simple games

    • Use age-appropriate coding tools such as ScratchJr, Scratch, or other block-based platforms

    • Develop creativity, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills through guided projects

  • 4:30 – 5:00 PM: Flexible pickup time with supervised play or quiet activities.

👧👦 Two Coding courses for Two Age Groups:

  • CO100 – Scratch Jr Programming Part I: Animation Making
    Age 5–7 | iPads Provided

    This beginner coding course introduces young learners to programming through fun animation making using Scratch Jr on iPads. Students will create animated stories, move characters, add sounds, and explore basic sequencing while developing logical thinking and creativity.

    All tablets are provided on-site. Students do not need to bring any devices or materials.


    CO300 – Scratch 3.0 Programming for Beginners
    Age 8+ | Computers Provided

    This course introduces students to real coding concepts using Scratch 3.0 on computers. Through hands-on projects, students will design interactive games and animations while learning key programming concepts such as loops, conditionals, variables, and events.

    All computers are provided. Students do not need to bring laptops or additional materials.

Our program is designed for group-based instruction and does not provide one-on-one support. If your child requires additional support or accommodations (including developmental or behavioural needs), please contact us prior to registering to ensure we can provide a safe and positive experience for everyone.

Terms and conditions:

  • The program will run only if a minimum number of students is met. If the minimum enrollment is not reached, STEMA Learning will issue a full refund.

  • Refund policy: Full refund if cancelled 30 days or more before the class start date. A 50% refund is available if the class is cancelled 8–29 days before the start date. No refund for cancellations made within 7 days of the class start date or after the program begins.

  • No make-up classes will be provided for missed sessions due to personal reasons.

  • In the event of snow or unexpected weather that causes the school to close, the after-school program will also be closed. We will provide a make-up class at our center on the weekend

  • If a student is unable to continue after the program begins, the remaining balance may be credited toward other STEMA programs offered at your school or redeemed at our main learning center.

  • Classes are held on regular school operating days only. There will be no sessions on statutory holidays or Pro-D days.

  • Late pickups after 5:00 PM may be subject to a late fee.

  • STEMA Learning reserves the right to make changes to the schedule or instructors as needed.

  • By enrolling in our programs, you consent to the use of photos and videos taken during class for promotional purposes, including on our website and social media. If you do not wish your child to be included, please notify us in writing prior to the program’s start.
